[TUHH] Tell us about yourself. Name? Where are you from? What kind of music you create?

Sinista : MY name is Sinista, Born & bread in NYC Repping Staten Island 10304, I create that Boom Bap, that lyrical essence of Hip Hop

[TUHH] How did you get started in music?

Sinista : Well I was always into to music especially hip hop early on in life, my older brother was a B-boy and into Graffiti. And I always looked up to him, I feel as Hip Hop was one of my siblings, I grew with & experience the culture before I even knew it was a culture to me it was just life, I was always around talented people I started free styling in high school I really wasn’t that good at first but with time my skills progressed, I left the music alone for a few years on the creative side but I got heavy into the poetry scene & started doing spoken word which ultimately brought me back full circle

[TUHH] How did the Hip Hop I Am album come about?

Sinista : through DarkStarz Records CEO Gee Dark hooking up with the legendary producer Su Preme

[TUHH] What was the vision for your song on the ” HIP HOP I AM ” album? What was the title? Why did you choose that title?

Sinista : I am on a track titled the order truthfully I’m not sure how the vision or title came about , but ultimately it’s a collective of four dope emcees when you hear the track there is definitely a message that speaks for its self

[TUHH] What is your favorite part of creating music or performing?

Sinista : for me music is a part of life, music is powerful, I am a fan of the music first then an artist, I love the different layers and colors of music, there is nothing like looking back at a finish project and knowing your contributions to the art form, it’s a real love of the labor each word strategically place to paint the pictures that’s trapped in my head and when I listen back I can see the bigger picture play out as a sound track to match my vision

[TUHH] Where do you get your inspiration from?

Sinista : Everyday life and different emotions I go through, also my label mates who are constantly pushing the envelope, we have an incredible line up here at DSR

[TUHH] What are some of the highlights from the past year for you? Whatís in store for 2016?

Sinista : I have done a bunch of collaborations with other artist and right now I got several projects going on I got a joint project with one of my label mates Redd Rebel I’m currently working on right now as well as my first solo album so keep a look out for me I’m gonna be dropping fire for the people real soon

[TUHH] If you had to pick your top 5 ëcoolest things in the worldí, what would they be? (can be music relatedÖ or not)

Sinista : 1st coolest thing in the world got to be family , I always put family first I love my kids they are the coolest and I really enjoy being a father to them
2nd, I would say health I enjoy healthy foods and a good work out and it’s important to stay healthy especially with the poisonous food they market us every single day we really need to pay attention to what we eat and feed our children
3rd, Education it’s cool to educate yourself across the board, from what’s really going on in today society and how are you going to survive ten, twenty, thirty years from now you need to educate yourself and implement plans into action
4th, the raw elements of Hip Hop as a whole culture… dance, music, art
You know you got the turntablist cutting and scratching, the breakers , graffiti and the poets the rappers and the fashion got to have ya gear right none of that tight shit save that for the females
5th, beer , craft beer, dog fish head is a good one arrogant bastard ale is another

[TUHH] Who is your favorite or most loyal fans?

Sinista : I’m not sure about that one but in my immediate circle I probably got to say Gee Dark because he keeps it funky with me and I appreciate his criticism if he has any

[TUHH] What is one thing youíve learned during your career in music? Any advice for people starting out in the industry?

Sinista : I would say, set up realistic goals and deadlines and make it a priority to meet those goals, people are only going to take you as seriously as you take your self, also back up your work then back up your back up. A simple malfunction or Drive crash can set back your whole project

[TUHH] Anything else we should know about you?

Sinista : im grinding trying to get this work done for the people
